Jacob was raised in Grimsby and studied locally at Brock University, completing a BSc of Biomedical Sciences in 2015. During his studies he developed an interest in winemaking and after graduating worked in the Niagara wine industry for several years. On his days off he volunteered in stroke rehabilitation which prompted a decision to pursue a career in physiotherapy. In 2022, he completed an MSc of Physiotherapy at Leeds Beckett University (Leeds, United Kingdom), then gained experience working as a physiotherapist in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (2022-2025). Jacob has managed complex caseloads throughout his core rotations in the NHS, where he treated patients from diverse backgrounds, and in a variety of clinical settings including orthopaedics, intensive care, oncology, and neurology.
Jacob provides a patient-centred and evidence based approach to rehabilitation, focusing on patient education, manual therapies, and exercise prescription. He aims to advance his clinical skills through continuing education in manual therapies and is working towards becoming a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapists (FCAMPT).
Jacob enjoys a balance of hobbies including strength training, hiking, music, cooking, and analogue photography.
